MERIDIAN -- Two men face a list of charges in connection with a Tuesday afternoon home invasion and robbery in Meridian.

Thirty-five-year-old Brian Mack of Rupert and 36-year-old Corey Young of Payette are accused of holding up a woman at gunpoint and stealing her TV, then driving off.

Deputy Chief Tracy Basterrechea says it happened at the Selway Apartments in the Lochsa Falls subdivision. The woman who was robbed was not hurt.

Officers stopped the suspects' car a short time later and arrested Mack. Young ran off, stole a pickup truck, and led officers on a high-speed chase near Meridian Middle School. The school was put on lockdown for about an hour.

Basterrechea says the truck nearly hit a school bus before crashing into another car on Cloverdale and Columbia roads. Young had tried to avoid spike strips officers put out on the road when he lost control of the truck, and rolled it.

Young was not hurt and was taken into custody at the scene. He's charged with accessory to robbery, eluding police, and grand theft auto. Mack faces robbery and destruction of evidence charges. Police think the men could be connected to other burglaries in the area.
