BLACKFOOT -- Police in the eastern Idaho town of Blackfoot are searching for a man who robbed a family at gunpoint.
Police Chief David Moore told the Idaho State Journal that the family was returning to their home around 11 p.m. Saturday when they surprised someone ransacking the residence.
Moore says the suspect confronted the family and held them at gunpoint until they gave him some money that was in the home. The robber then told the family that they had to give him a 10-minute head start before calling police, and that he would know if they made the call sooner because he had a police scanner.
The family waited 10 minutes and then called police.
