TWIN FALLS, Idaho -- Seems like somebody has it in for the Twin Falls Police Department. Or at least its cruisers.
The agency in southern Idaho reports that somebody put 20 large nails -- with their sharp ends up -- in the dirt road leading to its shooting range.
Police say a jogger saw the nails on Thursday morning and alerted authorities before any police car tires were damaged.
They say the nails weren't there on Wednesday evening, so somebody must have intentionally placed them there overnight.
The agency is asking anybody with information leading to what it's calling a "thwarted vehicle vandalism attempt" to step forward.
Police also say they'll be stepping up surveillance in the area, to help curb any repeat road nailings.
