TWIN FALLS -- Twin Falls Police detectives have arrested a man suspected of several ATM burglaries on several college campuses around the West, including Boise State University and the College of Southern Idaho.

An investigation spanning four states began on July 23, 2012, after Twin Falls Police responded to an ATM theft at CSI's Student Union Building. They later found the ATM in a janitorial closet and the money was removed from machine.

Similar burglaries occurred at Idaho State University, Corban University and Dixie State College of Utah. In all five cases, similar methods were used to break into the ATMs.

“We are continuing to work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to determine the extent of the charges that will be filed against the suspect,” said Twin Falls Detective Ben Mittelsta.

Detectives found the suspect, who is a Utah resident, late last month in Arizona. They have not released that person's name.

The suspect may have also targeted other ATMs on other college campuses. The investigation is ongoing.
