Police arrest two men for Boise motel shooting, robbery

BOISE -- Boise Police say two men involved in a robbery and shooting at the Budget Inn at 2600 West Fairview Avenue on the night Aug. 4 are now in jail.
 
Samuel Martinez, 34, of Star, and Tanner Goforth, 26, of Boise, were arrested Tuesday on outstanding warrants for robbery. Martinez is also charged with aggravated battery and a weapons enhancement for using a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.

Officers responded to a shooting at the downtown Boise motel around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Aug. 4. One man had been shot in the chest and was rushed to the hospital. He survived the shooting and is recovering.

Investigators say the shooting was the result of a robbery involving the two suspects. They say the suspects and the victim are acquainted.

Warrants for the suspects' arrest were issued late Monday. The two men were located a few hours later, arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail.
