BOISE -- A 22-year-old woman who police say refused to pay her cab fare and then bit an officer was jailed Saturday night.

Two Boise Police officers were on foot patrol just after 11 p.m. near Capitol Boulevard and Main Street when they were approached by a taxi cab driver who pulled up next to them. The cab driver said the woman in the back of his cab refused to pay her $47.90 fare.

The officers spoke to the woman, identified as Carmen Brashears, who said she did not have the money to pay the fare. She appeared intoxicated and tried to run away. As the officers attempted to stop her, the woman bit one of them in the leg.

Brashears was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail on charges of battery on a police officer, public intoxication, and resisting and obstructing officers.
