GARDEN CITY-- Police say one or more thieves broke into the Idaho Special Olympics office in Garden City and stole laptops and other office equipment.

Officers say the theft likely happened between Friday night and Monday morning. The Special Olympics Office is located at 119 East 52nd Street in Garden City.

"For the most part it was just a smash and grab," said Garden City Police Seargent Blair Brannan. "They took a cinder block and threw it through a glass door."

Brannan said police will alert area pawn shops to be on the lookout for the stolen goods.

He also asked members of the public to help find the thieves.

"We are all fully aware of the positive contributions that the Special Olympics serve to the good citizens of Idaho," Brannan said. "We have very few leads on this case and need the publics help in solving this crime."

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Detectives at 472-2950. Anyone who wants to remain anonymous can do so by calling Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
