ST. ANTHONY, Idaho -- An eastern Idaho man who police say jumped into the Snake River in an attempt to get away and also dispose of illegal drugs is being held in the Fremont County Jail.
Authorities tell KIFI-TV that police pulled over 34-year-old Jake Morris of Rigby on Thursday but he fled on foot into the river and threw the bag he was carrying into the water.
Police went in and got him and also recovered the bag they say contained meth, cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Morris has been charged with felony possession of drugs as well as misdemeanor drug charges, eluding an officer, driving under the influence and giving false information to a police officer.
