BOISE -- Police say a 38-year-old parolee suspected of selling meth was arrested after making threats to a passerby who attempted to help the man with an ATM late Wednesday night.
Officers arrested James Cyr near the 400 block of North Orchard Street around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
They say Cyr "flagged down" a bystander and threatened to use a weapon to harm him after asking the man to help him use an ATM.
The man then reportedly called police, who identified Cyr as a parolee with a Fourth Amendment waiver allowing police to search him. Officers say the subsequent search turned up a total of 49 grams of meth packaged in five Ziploc baggies.
Boise Police say Cyr was also in possession of several hypodermic syringes.
Cyr was booked on felony trafficking of a controlled substance, and is currently in the Ada County Jail.
