BOISE -- The latest sentence was handed down today, in an investigation that led to a series of marriage fraud schemes in central Idaho.
30-year-old Jenny Sedano-Vilcapoma, a Peruvian citizen living in Ketchum, was sentenced to a year in jail Thursday, for conspiracy to commit marriage fraud.
Prosecutors says she tried to enter into a fake marriage with a United States citizen, for the sole purpose of obtaining immigration benefits.
An investigation revealed that she also assisted at least three other Peruvian citizens living in Blaine County.
