CALDWELL -- A Nampa man charged in a Canyon County murder-for-hire case has been found guilty.

Late Thursday, a jury returned guilty verdicts against 45-year-old Lorenzo Astorga Corral on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree kidnapping and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

Canyon County Prosecutor Bryan Taylor says Corral offered 26-year-old Jose de Jesus Rodriguez $5,000 to help him kidnap and kill a man who was dating his ex-girlfriend.

Rodriguez has already pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder and will spend at least four to 15 years in prison.

Corral denied knowing about the plot, which was never carried out.

Sentencing is set for August 20. Corral faces up to life in prison.
