WILLISTON, N.D. -- A West Fargo man charged with attempted murder in a shooting in Williston has been sentenced on a lesser charge, and the victim and police are not happy.

Authorities allege Paul Huckstep shot Kenneth Moore during a drug dispute a year ago. Huckstep on Tuesday pleaded guilty to terrorizing, as well as drug and weapon charges, and prosecutors dropped the attempted murder charge.

Huckstep was sentenced to five years in prison and given credit for time he already has served.

The shooting left Moore, of Boise, Idaho, paralyzed from the chest down and confined to a wheelchair. He said the five-year term "is not serving me justice."

Police Chief Jim Lokken told the Williston Herald that he also is unhappy with the plea deal.
