LAPWAI, Idaho -- The trial of a northern Idaho man charged in his mother's death has been scheduled for July 2013 in Nez Perce Tribal Court.
The Lewiston Tribune reports 47-year-old Kenneth D. Broncheau of Winchester will remain held at the Nez Perce County Jail in the meantime. He pleaded innocent to murder, domestic violence and aggravated arson during a tribal court hearing last month in Lapwai.
Tribal prosecutors say Broncheau shot his mother, 66-year-old Carol Haskell, on June 21 at her Winchester home and then set her body on fire.
The FBI is assisting the tribe in the investigation.
A status hearing in the case against Broncheau has been scheduled for Aug. 21.
