BLACKFOOT, Idaho -- A 42-year-old man has been sentenced to between 10 and 15 years in prison for a fatal crash in Blackfoot.
Prosecutors say Kenny Carl Struhs ran a stop sign Aug. 12 and struck a motorcycle driven by Brent Hansen and with his 6-year-old daughter as a passenger. Hansen died but his daughter survived.
Bingham County Prosecuting Attorney says Struhs drove away from the accident but then had another accident. He blood-alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit at .157.
Seventh Judicial District Judge Darren Simpson sentenced Struhs Tuesday on a conviction of vehicular manslaughter.
The Blackfoot Morning News reports Simpson also ordered Struhs to pay more than $7,500 in fines.
Struhs told the judge he takes full responsibility and apologized.
