SANDPOINT, Idaho -- A jury has convicted a Sandpoint woman of a felony for leaving the scene of a fatal crash with an off-duty police officer a year ago.

The Bonner County Daily Bee reports jurors deliberated for more than two hours before reaching a guilty verdict in the trial of Brianna Lucille Knapp.

She was accused of leaving an accident that caused the death of 47-year-old Kurt Henson, of Post Falls. Henson and his 43-year-old passenger Kimberly Lenox were thrown from his motorcycle on July 25, 2012, when he hit the edge of a construction zone.

Police say Henson was then struck by a vehicle driven by Knapp. Lenox survived the accident.

Knapp faces up to five years in prison for the crime. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 18.
