TWIN FALLS -- A judge has denied the efforts of a convicted murderer to withdraw his guilty plea on a claim of ineffective assistance from lawyers.
Fifth District Judge Randy Stoker of Twin Falls dismissed 32-year-old Cameron Watt's petition for post-conviction relief on April 29, saying any claim by Watts that he told his attorneys to file a motion to withdraw his plea is not credible, The Times-News reported.
Watts pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for the 2007 kidnapping and killing of 18-year-old Dale Miller over a $250 drug debt. Watts was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for his part in Miller's death.
