BLACKFOOT, Idaho -- The principal of Snake River Junior High School in Blackfoot faces three counts of felony sexual abuse of a minor child.
Christopher Cox was arraigned Thursday before 7th District Magistrate Judge Charles Roos. Roos released Cox from jail, but issued an order barring him from contacting the alleged victim, the alleged victim's family or any children under the age of 18 except his own.
Bingham County Sheriff Dave Johnson says his office began the investigation after receiving a complaint from a student who has since moved to another state. Cox, who is 38, was arrested Wednesday.
Cox's attorney, Justin Oleson, told the court his client intended to return home.
Cox has been principal for four years.
