POCATELLO, Idaho -- A 26-year-old Fort Hall man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in death of baby girl last year.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Ian Jack Crooked Arm, who also uses the last name Sittre, pleaded guilty Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Pocatello. Sentencing is set for May 21.
Prosecutors say the mother of the 10-month-old girl left her with Sittre when she went to work on Feb. 20, 2013. Shortly after she left, Sittre called and said something was wrong with the baby.
The woman returned home, called 911 and attempted CPR. The girl was taken to the hospital in Pocatello and then flown to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City, where she died of head trauma two days later.
Prosecutors say during a recorded phone call Sittre made from jail he acknowledged shaking the baby.
