BLACKFOOT, Idaho -- A former principal from the southeastern Idaho town of Blackfoot has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 14-year-old student.
Christopher Cox was the principal of Snake River Junior High for four years, but resigned in February after his arrest. He pleaded guilty to the charge in Bingham County on Thursday, and faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.
Prosecutors said the 38-year-old Cox abused a 14-year-old girl at the school during several incidents in 2011. He was originally charged with three counts of sex abuse, but Bingham County Prosecutor Scott Andrew said his office dropped two of the charges in exchange for Cox' guilty plea.
