AMERICAN FALLS -- A former American Falls High School teacher faces 45 days in jail for having a sexual relationship with a student.
Zenna Galeria was sentenced Thursday by 6th District Judge Stephen Dunn. Galeria, who is 23, pleaded guilty in November to sexual battery of a minor 16 to 17 years old.
Power County prosecutors allege the relationship between Galeria and the student developed in early 2011, when he was 17 years old.
Dunn said the first 14 days of Galeria's sentence would have to be served consecutively, while the remainder could be served during her first year of a five-year probationary period.
She will be required to register as a sex offender for at least the next 10 years.
