CALDWELL -- A former Canyon County maintenance supervisor has been sentenced to two to 10 years in prison for five felony crimes, according to Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden.
Andrew Eveland, 43, of Eagle, pleaded guilty in April to four counts of presentation of false accounts, and one count of grand theft.
Third District Judge Gregory M. Culet suspended the prison sentence and retained jurisdiction for up to one year. Eveland was taken into custody and is serving in a Department of Correction evaluation program.
Eveland admitted he submitted false invoices and claims to Canyon County commissioners for cleaning services that were never rendered at the county's Juvenile Detention Center. The invoices ranged from $1,000 a month to $1,900 a month. He also took county property for his own use, including computers and TV monitors.
Restitution to the county will be determined at a later date.
