BOISE -- The Idaho Department of Fish and Game is asking for the public's help in solving a poaching incident earlier this month.
A cow elk was found shot and left to waste along the Middle Fork of the Boise River Road near Alexander Flats on April 6.
Conservation officer Ben Cadwallader found the dead elk near a campsite. The animal has not been field dressed. He hopes to learn more from eyewitnesses who might have info about the campers.
“I am very interested in visiting with anyone who has information regarding this case,” Cadwallader said.
Citizens Against Poaching is offering a reward. Their phone number is 1-800-632-5999.
Tipsters may also contact the Fish and Game Nampa office at 208-465-8465.
