BOISE -- An Ada County sheriff's deputy who was cited for misdemeanor battery over the weekend has resigned, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Andrea Dearden.
Police say Ron Love hit a woman inside a Boise nightclub Friday night.
The 49-year-old deputy was off duty when he got into an argument with a woman at a club on South 9th Street.
She says they were arguing because Love inappropriately touched her female acquaintance. She says he then struck her in the face with a closed fist.
Love was put on paid administrative leave following the incident.
The Boise Police Department is handling the investigation.
