BOISE -- A 28-year-old Boise man is behind bars after a police chase that started on Interstate 84 and ended at the Albertsons grocery store on Overland Road and Vista Avenue.

Tyler W. Hattabaugh is charged with felony DUI, felony controlled substance delivery, and several misdemeanors related to the incident.

The pursuit began just before 9 p.m. Sunday when an Ada County Sheriff's deputy tried to pull over a pickup truck on I-84. According to reports, the driver of the pickup refused to stop and continued for more than a mile to the grocery store.

That's when Hattabaugh reportedly jumped out of the truck and ran into the store.

A deputy chased the 28-year-old inside and confronted him. Police say Hattabaugh indicated he wasn't going to surrender, so the deputy attempted to use his taser to subdue him. However, the taser reportedly did not make full contact with Hattabugh, who apparently decided to give up at that point.

Hattabaugh was arrested without further incident, and is currently in the Ada County Jail.

Deputies report finding marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside his truck.
