BOISE -- A Meridian man convicted of second-degree murder has asked for a new trial.
Attorneys for Rob Hall filed a motion Thursday in 4Th District Court, requesting a judgment of acquittal. The motion also requests that Hall's conviction be set aside and that he be given a new trial.
Hall was convicted last month in the March 2011 shooting death of his wife's lover in a drugstore parking lot. He's scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 13.
During his trial, Hall's attorneys claimed Hall shot Emmett Corrigan in self-defense.
A hearing on the new motion is scheduled scheduled for Nov. 29.
