BOISE -- Boise Police say a citizen tip has led them to identify a suspect in an ongoing grand theft case.

Debbie A. Kinchen, 54, of Boise, has been arrested and charged with two felonies - grand theft and fraudulent use of a financial transaction card.

Detectives received several tips to Crime Stoppers after a surveillance photo of the suspect was released to the media back in May.  The woman in the photo is accused of using a stolen credit card to buy more than $1,000 in merchandise from stores in the Boise area.

"Crime Stoppers can be a powerful tool for the police department and citizens when we work together to stop crime in our community," said Boise Financial Crimes Detective Sgt. Brain Lee. "We are lucky that we have citizens who are willing to stand up and do the right thing in our communities."

Police say several tipsters identified Kinchen as the woman in the surveillance photo. A warrant was then issued for her arrest.

Kinchen was booked into the Ada County Jail today on the felony charges.

Anyone with information about any crime in the community is urged to contact Boise Police through Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
