CALDWELL, Idaho -- Non-functioning taillights led Caldwell Police to arrest a woman for felony DUI and multiple counts of injury to child.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday. Police pulled over a vehicle at 16th Avenue and Cleveland when they noticed it had no taillights.
The driver was identified as Stephanie Tucker, 26, of Caldwell. After conducting field sobriety tests, Tucker was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. It was later determined that this was Tucker’s third DUI within 10 years, making it a felony offense.
Officers also discovered that Tucker had left her three young children, ranging in ages from 2 to 8, home alone.
Caldwell Police responded to Tucker’s home to check the welfare of the children before ultimately releasing them to a family member.
Tucker was taken to the Canyon County Jail and booked on charges of felony DUI, driving without privileges and three counts of injury to child.
