POCATELLO, Idaho -- A 6-year-old Pocatello boy who was hospitalized last week after apparently being beaten has been removed from life support at a Salt Lake City hospital.
The Bannock County prosecutor's office is reviewing the case to decide if charges against the boy's father, Anthony Blake Viles, will be upgraded. Viles was arrested Thursday and charged with felony injury to a child after investigators say he acknowledged striking the boy.
The Idaho State Journal reports Afton Wrigley was removed from life support at Primary Children's Hospital on Sunday evening. The family donated the boy's organs.
Prosecutor Mark Hiedeman says an autopsy was planned Monday and a decision on charges will be made Tuesday.
