BOISE -- A 22-year-old Boise woman was jailed twice over the weekend after police say she repeatedly drove under the influence of painkillers and depressants.

Boise police say Lyndsi L. Peterson was first arrested Saturday afternoon after a bystander reported the young woman stumbling to her car in the parking lot of a retail store on the 8100 block of Fairview Avenue.

Officers say they found the 22-year-old sitting in her car with its engine running and eventually had to turn off the ignition for her. Police say when questioned, Peterson had a hard time understanding them, and then failed several field sobriety tests.

A drug recognition expert from the Meridian Police Department was eventually called to conduct an evaluation, and that lead officers to believe Peterson was under the influence of some type of narcotic drug.

She was then booked into the Ada County Jail, charged with DUI, and eventually released.

Police say a similar incident happened at almost the exact same place at the exact same time the next day.

That's when another bystander called 911 to report a driver who had hit a curb and driven onto the sidewalk near Fairview Avenue and North Milwaukee Street.

Police say that's where they found Peterson again sitting in her car with the engine running, but this time with a flat tire.

After yet another round of failed sobriety tests, police took Peterson to jail on another DUI charge.

According to police, Peterson was thought to be under the influence of "depressants" according to another drug recognition expert.

She's currently out of jail.
