BOISE – A Boise man has been given a life sentence for molesting four boys, according to Ada County prosecutors.
Fourth District Court Judge Cheri Copsey ordered 22-year-old Clinton Matthews to serve at least 20 years in prison before he is eligible for parole.
Matthews pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual abuse of a minor child under 16 years of age, and one count of lewd conduct with a minor. Prosecutors say Matthews molested four boys, ages 7 to 14, over the past two years.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was investigating Matthews in Jan. 2012 for accessing child porn from his home computer. During a search of his Boise home officers found a 7-year-old boy who told them he had been sexually abused. That led to the discovery of other victims who are described as family friends.
Mathews was already in the Ada County Jail on a child porn charge back in February when he was arrested by police. A grand jury indicted Mathews on seven counts of lewd conduct with a minor under 16, and three counts of sexual abuse of a child.
As part of the plea agreement, the state agreed to drop the other charges.
