BOISE -- A 31-year-old Boise man is in the Ada County Jail charged with rape and kidnapping after an early morning arrest.
Shortly after 4 a.m. Wednesday, a Boise Police detective, victim-witness coordinator and patrol officers were called to a residence where a rape had been reported.
Investigators found evidence that Jason Burniston had sexual contact with a woman against her will, and he prevented her from leaving the home where the crime occurred. Police say the suspect and victim are acquainted.
Officers were able to quickly locate Burniston and take him into custody. He was booked into the jail on felony charges of rape and second-degree kidnapping.
The victim is getting support through the Boise Police Department's Victim Services Unit.
