BOISE -- Ada County officials say a Boise couple has been charged with grand theft for breaking into an Eagle home and stealing items worth $1 million.

Gilberto Garza Jr. and Jessica Engelhardt are being held in Ada County Jail on felony burglary and grand theft charges of a home located next to the BanBury Golf Course.

Authorities say the break-in happened while the homeowner was out of town, sometime between March 17th and April 4th. And items stolen included: guns, furniture, appliances, precious metals, and a 2002 Mercedes.

Deputies say they found almost every room ransacked, with drawers dumped out and marks in the rugs where furniture used to be. Neighbors have since reported seeing a U-Haul truck outside of the home, while the homeowner was gone.

Less than half of the items have been recovered, and as many as seven guns and the Mercedes are still missing.

Detectives are investigating who may have purchased the stolen items from Engelhardt and Garza. Meanwhile, the couple is set for a preliminary hearing for the charges on May 31, and authorities say their felony charges are punishable by up to 10 and 14 years in prison.
