IDAHO FALLS -- Police in eastern Idaho say a traffic stop led to the seizure of 52 pounds of methamphetamine and 27 pounds of cocaine worth $2.2 million.

Idaho State Police say the traffic stop at about 2 a.m. Saturday on a vehicle that failed to maintain its lane led to the arrest of 29-year-old Sergio Javier Varela-Vallecillo of Honduras and the passenger, 28-year-old Felicia Inez Varela of Texas.

Police say the two denied ownership of the property in the U-Haul and a drug-sniffing dog was brought in.

Police say the K-9 picked up the scent of drugs in the U-Haul and a subsequent search found the meth and cocaine.

Varela-Vallecillo and Varela were taken into custody and transported to the Bonneville County Jail on suspicion of felony trafficking of meth and cocaine.
