4 arrested after Nampa standoff

NAMPA -- A standoff between police and two women caused a stir Thursday evening after the suspects barricaded themselves inside a Nampa home.

The incident began at 6:20 p.m. in the 500 block of West Cobblestone Place. Officers were called out to the neighborhood to help the Metro Fugitive Task Force take the suspects into custody.

Once the officers arrived, however, they realized the people they were looking for had run into a house and barricaded themselves inside. The Nampa Police Tactical Response Team was called in, to attempt to negotiate with the people inside the house.

When negotiations failed, the officers entered the home and took the two women into custody without incident.

Ashley Zuniga, 22, was arrested on a felony warrant, a misdemeanor warrant, and a charge of obstruct and delay. Ashley Timmons, 20, was arrested for felony drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruct and delay.

Two other people at the home were also taken into custody. Daniel Gomez Hernandez, 24, was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and felony drug possession, while 19-year-old Brayden Glen was arrested on a misdemeanor probation violation warrant.

All four suspects are Nampa residents.

“The Nampa Police Department is pleased to have helped the Metro Fugitive Task Force with the arrests made tonight,” Sgt. Jamie Burns said in a press release. “We will continue to work together to make our community a safer place.”
