BOISE -- Police say a routine license plate check on Monday night put two Boise men in jail for grand theft auto and possession of drugs, among other charges.

Boise Police officers arrested 19-year-old Robert Wayne Harmon and 18-year-old Maxwell A. Dosh at approximately 11:30 p.m. Monday near Five Mile Road and Landmark Street.

Officers say both men were inside a vehicle with license plates that failed to match a state database.

When pulled-over and questioned, both men then reportedly gave fake names to police officers, who say they quickly determined Harmon and Dosh were driving a stolen car, and that Harmon was wanted on felony charges for previously failing to appear in court.

Officers also allegedly found a small amount of meth and drug-related items in the car.

Both men were booked at the Ada County Jail.

Dosh was charged with felony grand theft, felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Harmon was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, felony grand theft, felony failure to appear on a warrant, misdemeanor failure to purchase a driver's license, misdemeanor providing false information, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
