NAMPA -- Police are asking for the public's help tracking down a driver who hit a child on a bicycle, then drove away Thursday.

The collision happened at about 5 p.m. near Lake Lowell Avenue and Midland Boulevard in Nampa.

The impact threw the 14-year-old boy off his bicycle.

Luckily, the teen suffered only minor injuries, police say. He was treated at the scene by paramedics, then released to his father.

The car that hit the cyclist was last seen driving west on Lake Lowell Avenue. The vehicle is described as a small red passenger car, with damage to the front driver's side.
