MOSCOW, Idaho -- A magistrate judge has approved a reduced charge for a Moscow man facing a trial in connection with a shooting death.
Prosecutors originally charged 28-year-old Nathanial H. Nisbet with first-degree murder after they said he shot and killed 42-year-old Charles "Pat" McMichael during a confrontation at a Moscow home on Nov. 10.
The Lewiston Tribune reports that on Tuesday, Magistrate John C. Judge approved an amended charge of second-degree murder.
Nisbet is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 19. He is currently being held in the Latah County Jail on a $300,000 bond.
