BOISE -- It's April 17th and that means taxes are due today.

All taxes must be postmarked or e-filed by midnight tonight.

At the offices of the State Tax Commission in Boise they are offering curbside service today.  They will be here until 4:30 p.m.

You can pull up to the Park Boulevard Plaza and employees will be here to pick up your completed state and federal tax forms.  If you drop off your returns here, you won't have to use a postage stamp.  A few filers who dropped off their forms today say they deliberately waited.

"It's financially kinda difficult this year, so therefore I wanted to wait as long as I possibly can," said Randy Harklerode of Boise.

"I want to keep it in my bank account as long as I can, although its not a lot of money, you know its not fun," said Ed White of Boise.

Idaho State Tax Commission spokeswoman Renee Eymann says she understands people like to wait, but advises that you send in your returns before the deadline at midnight, especially if you're filing electronically.

"I wouldn't wait until the last minute to e-file just because there could be technical problems," said Eymann.

The Tax Commission also says if you have any questions you can stop by 800 Park Boulevard, Plaza IV in Boise, or call their office at (800) 972-7660 or 334-7660 before 5 p.m. today.

Where to mail your tax returns

To assist last minute filers, the Boise mail processing and distribution facility at 2201 South Cole Road in Boise will collect tax returns until midnight.

In addition, people who print a mailing label before midnight, at any of the five self-service mail centers in the Treasure Valley area will receive an April 17th postmark.

For those of you filing an extension, your taxes are still due today, and your extension still has to be postmarked by midnight.
