Chrysler is recalling some 24,000 vehicles due to a defect that could cause unexpected brake failure.

Right now, Chrysler is not aware of any accidents that were caused by the defective brakes, but a test vehicle at an assembly plant experienced total brake failure.

The recall applies to 2010 model Chrysler Sebrings, Dodge Avenger Sedans, Dodge Nitro and Jeep Liberty SUVs, Jeep Commander and Grand Cherokee SUVs, and 2009 and 2010 model Ram trucks.
