BOISE -- Discount airline Allegiant has plans to operate several direct flights from the Boise Airport starting in October.
On Tuesday, Allegiant announced nonstop jet service between Boise and Honolulu beginning Feb. 10, 2013, and Boise and Las Vegas beginning Oct. 26, 2012. Allegiant is offering promotional deals on both flights available through April 16, 2013.
The carrier plans to offer introductory fares to Honolulu starting at $180 one way, and fares to Las Vegas starting at $62 one way. That does not include taxes and fees.
Allegiant does charge for both carry-on and checked baggage, and introductory fare tickets must be purchased by Aug. 14, 2012.
“We are pleased to bring new affordable and convenient travel options to Boise,” said Andrew C. Levy, Allegiant Travel Company President.
Boise Airport Director Rebecca Hupp commented that she was "extremely pleased" that the service was now available.
Boise Mayor Dave Bieter says this is good news for the local economy and our business community.
"It is vital to us to grow air service, and preferably nonstop flights. When I speak to businesses, when I talk to folks around the country that is a question that is on people's minds. And the more business we can bring the better off we are," said Bieter.
