BOISE - If you have a young child, take another look at your car safety seat.

The Idaho Transportation Department says three out of four car seats are not properly fastened, and such mistakes can result in serious injury or death.

To make sure your children are buckled up safely, technicians from Safe Kids Treasure Valley are offering free car-seat checks, Saturday for Child Passenger Safety Week.

You can get a free inspection between 1 and 4 p-m at Meridian Fire Station 1, or Monday or Thursday at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Boise or St. Luke's Meridian Medical Center.
