Fred Meyer has joined Whole Foods in recalling some fresh ground beef due to potential e-coli contamination.
Fred Meyer is recalling its "family pack" ground beef with sell-by dates July 6 through Aug. 11 and labels that read: "Lean Ground Beef Family Pack Not To Exceed 20 percent Fat."
Customers should throw it out or return it to stores for a full refund or replacement.
The store is recalling the meat in case it was processed with meat from Nebraska Beef Ltd., which has been linked to tainted beef.
Fred Meyer stores have placed signs with specific information in their meat departments to notify customers. Fred Meyer operates 129 stores in Oregon, Idaho, Washington and Alaska.
