BOISE -- Lawmakers are embroiled what's likely the final week of the 2013 session, but that doesn't mean they've retired their legislative wish lists.
Among other things, a busy day of hearings Tuesday includes discussion on a measure aiming to eventually tax Internet sales and a slew of additional bills designed to boost tax revenue to repair Idaho's aging road and bridge system.
These are pretty ambitious ideas, all of them.
For instance, similar measures to tax Internet purchases have died numerous deaths in Idaho Legislatures past.
As a consequence, it's unlikely this and other measures will get much traction this year.
But it's never too late to put a proposal, however grandiose, in front of lawmakers for consideration.
As one session wanes, of course, elected leaders are thinking ahead to 2014.
