A Caldwell family of six has been displaced after fire gutted their mobile home last night.
CALDWELL -- New information today on a fire that damaged a Caldwell family's home last night.
Firefighters say there was no smoke detector in the family's mobile home.
The fire started around 10:30 p.m. Monday on the 2700 block of Arrowhead Drive in Caldwell.
The damage to the home is extensive.
A neighbor says the father had some burns on his arm and one daughter's hair was singed. The mother and three other children are fine.
Still no word on what caused the fire.
Firefighters say the family is lucky to be alive and people shouldn't take the risk of not having a smoke detector.
Residents of Caldwell who cannot afford a smoke detector can call the fire department to receive one free of charge.
Many other cities also offer this service, you can check with your local fire department for more information.
