MIDDLETON - Four people are in jail in connection with an attempted murder in Canyon County Wednesday night.
Police say Wanda Bisby took a 38-year-old man to a Middleton home under "false pretenses" at about 9 p.m. When Bisby arrived with the victim, officers say Lonnie Knie, Rochelle Saucedo and Kathleena Bowen assaulted the man - and tied him up and choked him. The victim said he drifted in and out of consciousness during the "severe" beating.
Officers say the suspects took him to a second hand store on Cleveland Blvd where they bound him in a chair and continued to beat him. The victim told officers that the suspects were going to kill him.
Someone called Caldwell Police and told them something strange was going on -- officers arrived and said Knie told them that nothing was wrong. They say Bowen and Saucedo tried to hide and flee - but police were able to take them into custody, in addition to Knie.
Officers found the victim bound and gagged.
Police tracked down Bisby and arrested her shortly after.
All four are being held on charges of first degree kidnapping - but additional charges could be filed, including attempted murder, attempted mayhem, conspiracy, burglary, and battery with intent to commit a serious felony.
Officers say the motive in the beating was likely drug-related.
The victim was treated and released at West Valley Medical Center with severe - but non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation in the case is still ongoing.
