NAMPA - For four decades the Nampa Elks club has sponsored an Easter weekend team roping event -- and this year hundreds are expected to participate in the name of charity.
Hundreds of ropers and spectators will be in the stands at the Caldwell Night Rodeo grounds over the weekend.
More than $3,000 is expected to be raised at this weekend's event.
Cowboys from across southern Idaho, eastern Oregon, and northern Nevada are all taking part.
"It's just a good way to get involved in the community, and a good way to support the Elks Rehabilitation Hospital,” Lyle Gessford with the Nampa Elks Lodge said. “That's what the Elks are all about, helping the community, and the charitable organizations that help that.
Every year the Idaho Elks contribute over $200,000 to the Elks Rehabilitation Hospital.
