Nampa family wants to drive cross-country in biodiesel motorhome

NAMPA -- A family from Nampa plans to drive a biodiesel-powered motorhome across the U.S., in a route that aims for sites that offer the nontoxic plant-based fuels.
Christina Jenkins says she and her husband, Taylor, have "always been interested in energy conservation and renewable energy -- and wanted to combine that with public service."
So they're using a 2006 Gulfstream motorhome whose engine won't require any modifications.
That means if they can't find any biodiesel, they can still fill up on regular diesel fuel.
They plan to head through cities including Salt Lake City, Rockford, Illinois and Washington, D.C.
Along the way, they want to stop at energy fairs and research labs to get attention for their trip.
