NAMPA -- Controversial books at the Nampa Library will stay off the shelves.

The library board voted Monday to keep copies of "The New Joy of Sex" and "The Joy of Gay Sex" in the librarian's office - out of reach of children.

The board also decided from now on to look over any books with sexual content before putting the books into circulation.

This final decision comes after more than half of the library's staff asked the board to keep the books on the shelves.
