CALDWELL -- A man in the Canyon County Jail is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to aggravated assault and a felon in possession of a firearm.

Jaime Barbosa Soto, 23, was charged after four men said Soto fired a pistol at their car from his car while chasing them down near S. Indiana Avenue and E. Ustick Road in Caldwell.

The incident happened in the early morning hours of February 24 and no one was injured in the shooting.

Soto was taken into custody two days later on a probation violation.

The Ada County Prosecutor’s Office handled the case because of a conflict with the Canyon County Prosector’s Office.
