Nampa gang member sent to federal prison

BOISE -- A Nampa man who belonged to the South Side gang, had been convicted of crimes in Canyon County and repeatedly entered the U.S. illegally will serve seven months in federal prison for illegal re-entry.
Sergio Colin-Martinez, 21, was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Edward J. Lodge. He will be deported when his sentence is complete.
Colin-Martinez was arrested as part of Operation Street Sweeper, a joint effort of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Treasure Valley Metro Gang and Violent Crimes Task Force. He admitted illegally entering the U.S. at least five different times.
He had previously been convicted of petty theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting and obstructing police.More Local News
